Cloyd - Beau "Lawson" Benally, Jr.
Lawson "Beau" Benally, Jr. I am a 31 year old Navajo opportunists pursuing unwritten goals to achieve a higher standard of living. "I find new avenues in expressing my mind, body, soul, and ideas", is the best way to describe my everyday involvements. "As much as i like to relax, I understand that there are only so many hours in the day and so many days in my life to impact the world". Business and the Arts are two contrasting passions I need to balance out the everyday struggles. My taste for leadership started with high school FFA and student government. The U.S. Marine Corps then trained me as an audiovisual production specialists, cameraman with a pistol for short, for four years. After honorably serving my country, Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO became my next place of learning. The Theatre departmnet allowed me to become part of the stage to express the feeling and opinions that I had bottled up inside. The Native Theatre club soon became my best friend. In 2002, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre wrapped up my time in Durango, then it was back home to bright lights big city, Kayenta, AZ. I performed with Native Theatre in Kayenta for the 2002 summer then struggled with the Arts before becoming a businesss entrepreneur to make money. From 2003 to present I focused on keeping the retail store Toh-Den-Nas-Shai Trading, open every day. Monument Valley High School also gave me the gift of teaching for one year. A Drama teaching experience I will never forget.
